Australian Farm Stay

After our usual hop to Bangkok to catch a 9hr midnight flight, we began our down under adventures on a little hobby farm in the Korumburra countryside of Victoria, Australia, owned by parents of some good friends. The kids were too excited to sleep much on the flight but luckily they were entranced by the in-flight entertainment system before a few hours of shuteye followed by a nap in the car on the way to Korumburra. Our generous hosts provided us with enough basics and a casserole for the evening that we were able to quickly settle in to get a good night’s rest.

(The biggest incident to report on our journey was M’s motion sickness vomit after landing. Yes, we were THAT close to having a clean arrival.)

Simple cozy comfy was perfect.

We all immediately took to the cooler weather after leaving behind the sweltering 40C/100F in Vientiane. Energized to be outdoors, we pretty much went outside as soon as we woke up. You don’t know how happy this made me…

A glorious morning of coffee on the porch while the kids played outside.

The view fueled me more than the coffee.

Serious bucolic bliss.

Who can resist a tire swing?

Then it was off to tend to the animals…

Nice and gentle M.

I loved these beautiful trees and the eucalyptus scented air wherever we went.

And for our farewell, the cows delighted us by pooping to get the biggest giggles out of M&O.

And we couldn’t have been more delighted. “Look mommy! He’s pooping!!!”

That looks amazing. We too are starting to wilt from the 105 degree temps and the dusty pollution. Chris and I are totally regretting having to go back to America for R&R–next time New Zealand and Australia here we come! 🙂

Ahh but it’s always good to be back home in many ways, too. When will the rains start for you guys?
