Life in Laos through the lens of a diplomatic wife raising twin toddlers.
…just super busy.
Coming back to life in Vientiane after our vacation has been full on, with little time to post. Apologies to family and close friends for the lack of updates on our lives but for the most part things have been really really good.
The kids returned to school headlong into four weeks of preparations for their very first school performance, play dates, birthday parties, and lots of swimming. I returned to a full slate of on-line classes, meetings and conferences related to my upcoming full-time job (more on that later, but YAY I am excited!), winning a grant for Cleanbirth.org (more later here, too, and another Hooray!), and organizing a social event for Cleanbirth.org’s founder during her visit here later this month. G returned to a fall off his bike resulting in a fractured arm and badly scraped up hands, but still able to brew a summer beer which should be ready in a few more weeks, and we have begun looking at a list potential posts for our next move making us nervous and excited at the same time!
On top of it all, the kids and I have been around the flu circuit practically every other week with bad timing for O who had to miss his school performance. Our hospice ended with my severe case this past week where I was actually given antibiotics for suspected scrub typhus. Turns out that I just had the flu, but still, it was that bad that I had to see the doctor to rule out dengue fever. Not fun at all. But the kids were cute fluttering around my sick bed playing doctor and climbing up for cuddles. Best precious medicine ever.
That’s all for now as far as the family update. Still have to finish up our vacation posts at some point but there’s happenings around here to get to as well and hopefully it won’t take me three more weeks to write about them!
